This Privacy Policy explains how the Mark Attendance Android app collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information for registered schools and authorized attendance users.

App and service purpose

Mark Attendance is an attendance workflow app used by registered schools to mark, verify, sync, and review student or staff attendance. It is not a public social network and is not used for behavioral advertising.

Information we collect or process

• Login and school information: school pairing details, username, role, employee or staff details, school code, device pairing status, and authentication records.
• Attendance information: student or staff name, class, section, roll number, SR number, attendance date, attendance status, time, remarks, leave status, correction history, and sync status.
• Verification information: QR code, barcode, student photo, captured attendance image, face registration image, face verification data, device identifier, and related proof when the school enables these features.
• Device and technical data: device model, operating system, app version, IP address, app logs, network status, notification token, and error/support information.

Android permissions and why they are used

• Camera: used for QR/barcode scanning, attendance image capture, face registration, face verification, or other school-approved attendance verification.
• Storage or media: used to store or upload attendance images, reports, cached files, or verification evidence where enabled.
• Notifications: used for attendance reminders, sync status, school alerts, and service messages.
• Internet and network state: used to connect to the school server, sync attendance, verify pairing, and show offline/online state.
• Location: used only if the school enables location-based attendance or geofencing. If location is not enabled in the app build or school configuration, it is not collected.

How we use information

We use information only to provide attendance marking, verification, reporting, school administration, parent/staff communication where enabled, support, security, misuse prevention, and compliance with school-authorized or legal requirements.

Biometric or face-related data

If face/photo attendance is enabled by the school, the app may capture or process face images or face-related verification data for attendance verification. Schools should enable these features only with proper authorization and consent where required by law. Face-related data is used only for attendance verification and is not sold or used for advertising.

Sharing of information

Attendance data may be visible to the registered school, authorized staff, administrators, parents or guardians where enabled, and trusted service providers used for hosting, storage, notifications, support, security, and maintenance. We may disclose information when required by law, regulation, legal process, school instruction, or safety/security needs.

Data sale and advertising

We do not sell attendance data, student data, staff data, photos, face-related data, notification tokens, or other personal information. Data is not used for behavioral advertising.

Children and student data

The app may process attendance information about students, including minors, only for school attendance, reporting, parent communication where enabled, and related academic or administrative purposes.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards such as authentication, pairing controls, role-based access, secure server infrastructure, monitoring, backups, and secure transmission where configured by the school server. No digital system is completely secure, so users must protect credentials, devices, and school pairing information.

Retention

Attendance and verification records are retained according to school requirements, academic or employment record needs, backup schedules, support needs, legal obligations, and legitimate security or audit requirements.

Account and data deletion

Mark Attendance accounts and attendance records are usually created and managed by the registered school. Users who want account deletion, account deactivation, correction, or deletion of associated personal data should contact their school administrator or School Wala support using the official details below. We will verify the request with the registered school where required and process eligible deletion requests within a reasonable period, except where data must be retained for legal, security, accounting, attendance, employment, academic, or legitimate administrative reasons.

User choices and responsibilities

• Use only authorized school credentials or pairing details.
• Do not submit false, duplicate, proxy, or unauthorized attendance.
• Do not bypass, tamper with, or misuse QR, barcode, photo, face, location, device, or time verification.
